This is my sermon from Sunday, September 20th, my final introductory message to the Ten Commandments. The Great Commandment to love the Lord our God with all the heart, soul, and strength, is considered–accurately so–to be a comprehensive summary of the first table of the law. In this message, I seek to show how the Great Commandment in its ultimate sense encompasses the entire moral and spiritual duty of mankind. This commandment is a forceful commandment, a personal commandment, and a universal commandment, and certainly serves to show how defiled we are by sin, and by contrast how amazing is the stainless character of our Lord Jesus Christ.
