Dying in Your Sins

In one of the most sobering statements of the entire gospel of John, the Lord Jesus told His enemies that they would seek Him, and would die in their sins, and that where He was, they could not come.  This is a sentence of eternal doom and destruction.

No thought should terrify the human soul more than that of dying in his sins.  If we do not come to be with Christ where He is at death, then we must be cast into that terrible furnace of fire, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.  The dreadful thought of dying in our sins ought to induce us to embrace Christ immediately, as the light of the world, as the only Saviour of sinners.
