Hope and Expectation

The above link is to my sermon for our December Bible conference, from Proverbs 10:28: “The hope of the righteous shall be gladness, but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.”  This sermon attempts to ask, and urge the hearers, to answer a fundamental question of our very existence: what is my hope and expectation?  The righteous have a hope which shall end in gladness, beyond the borders of the grave.  But the wicked, be they religious or irreligious, have an expectation that will suffice only for this life, and shall certainly perish when the body does.  It is incumbent upon all to honestly answer this question regarding the great need of their soul honestly before God, for we know not when we shall be called to give an account of ourselves before God.
