Cleansing From All Sin

In preparation for our Communion service on November 1st, I preached from I John 1:7 on “cleansing from all sin.”  That little phrase, “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin,” is one of incalculable comfort to the children of God.  It is a benefit reserved for those who walk in the light, and are in fellowship with God and His people.  For these chosen ones, they enjoy perfect cleansing. The little word “all” contains an ocean of blessedness, for if some of our sins remained uncleansed, we would yet remain in our sins and under condemnation.  Christ’s redemption is absolutely perfect, cleansing us from the guilt of sin, and purging our consciences from dead works to serve the living and true God.
