When Jesus learned this sad news of John the Baptist, He retired into a desert place seeking for solitude, but finding none.  The crowds followed Him as soon as they discovered His location, and brought with them their sick friends and relatives.  Rather than rebuking them and insisting on rejuvenating Himself through rest, the Lord patiently returned to the business of healing.  His compassion for the sufferings of men and women was greater than His desire for personal rest.  This is another area in which Gospel ministers in particular, but indeed all Christians in general, ought to be keen to imitate their Master.
