The Battle Cry of the Reformation

I chose to deliver this message, which is almost as much historical lecture as sermon, because October 31st, 2012, is the anniversary of Martin Luther nailing the 95 theses on the church door at Wittenberg, Germany, thus sparking the Reformation.  By using Luther’s history as the case in point, I seek to demonstrate that the heart of the Reformation, and indeed the heart of the Gospel itself, is justification by faith in Jesus Christ alone, rather than in a Romish system of indulgences and works mixed in with grace.
